Consoles linked to the internet and video projectors will be installed at
Fierce running IRC, to allow a truly global interactive rave. Scripts from
(some) performances will be relayed through IRC as they are performed,
allowing both virtual artists and DJ's and virtual audiences to mingle
with the physical participants.
Join us for InterRAVE - a virtual global RAVE
I'll post the IRC details to this list closer to the date ...
If you would like to organise a similar installation simultaneously (as far
is practical given time differences ...) zap me some email so we can
co-ordinate this -- LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Live Internet RAVE chat
I n t e r R A V E
A Transcontinental RAVE to be premiered at FIERCE!
InterRAVE will allow participants in the FIERCE event to "jack into
cyberspace" and speak to people across the globe. The RAVE
conversations will also be projected into Boulder Lodge, so
participants would be communicating to all attendants of the event.
RAVING in cyberspace and in realworld at the same time.
Adam Burns (from Pegasus Networks) is going to conduct a live,
interactive international RAVE session during FIERCE. This will
utilise Pegasus Networks and the global Internet to link up people at
various international sites to computer terminals within Boulder
Lodge, the screens of which are projected onto the walls so that the
conversation is relayed to all people at the event. Scripts from
(some) performances will be relayed through the computer matrix,
allowing both virtual artists and virtual audiences to mingle with the
physical participants.
RAVE groups and others from around the world (San Francisco, London,
Amsterdam, and all around Australia) are being invited to attend
FIERCE in cyberspace. As well as that, the virtual meeting place is
open to any and all who pass by in cyberspace. The InterRAVE will link
ravers to RAVE about issues, current music, fashion, politics, related
RAVE arts, RAVE schedules, philosophy, technology, etc etc. The
InterRAVE will continue for as long as possible to allow differing
global timezones to sweep to reasonable times for all virtual
participants.
The ABC has funded the production of a short documentary on electronic
computerised media use by community groups in Australia. The
producers, SYMEDIA, will be covering this aspect of FIERCE as part of
their feature on Pegasus Networks.
For more information contact Adam Burns at Pegasus on 257 1111.
